Warmia and Masuria
Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship is located in North-Eastern Poland, in the Masurian Lake District. He lives here one and a half million people and it is one of the largest provinces in the country.
The capital is Olsztyn and larger cities include Elbląg, Ostróda, Giżycko and Ełk.
Natural values
Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship is distinguished by the richness of the environment. A large number of lakes connected by rivers is an excellent network for inland waterway transport. Well organised tourist infrastructure close to water bodies and forests makes this region not only unique but also landscapes a great place to relax the individual and the collective. Masuria has the largest lake Polish: Śniardwy and Mamry. More to the East is the deepest lake-Hańcza. Borecka forest complexes and Romnicka the two biggest in Masuria are ideal for observers and photographers.
Sport in Masuria
These events are held periodically and attracted tourists from the whole Polish and abroad. These include, inter alia, the International Beach Volleyball World Tour in old Polish workers ‚ party politicians or Polish Rally in Mikołajki. Masuria has something for lovers of traditional activities: sailing, canoeing, fishing and diving, hiking and cycling.
The culture of Masuria
The Region is teeming with artistic life, thanks to numerous musical ensembles, theatrical, entertainment. All this is complemented by fairs, exhibitions and festivals. Among the cultural events can be found here: International Country Picnic in Mrągowo, International Festival of traditional jazz gold, in Iława, and Polish Castle Meetings „Let’s Sing Poetry”in Olsztyn, Poland. The young play on Reggae Festival in Ostróda, in Węgorzewo Rock Music Festival, as well as „The market square”, consisting of theatre performances and happenings.
